Durango, DGO, Méx.- Antonia Santacruz Bugarin, 75, died on October 15, 2023 in Manhattan, Kansas, in the presence of her family.

She was born on January 13, 1948 in Atolinga, Zacatecas, daughter of Manuel Santa Cruz R. and Micaela Bugarin R. She lived a long time in Durango, DGO, Méx., She had a beautiful soul.

Antonia was of the Catholic faith and attended church regularly. Antonia was an animal lover. She also enjoyed spending quality time with family, playing cards, and gardening.

In May 1968 she married Antonio López Simental in Atolinga, Zacatecas. In 1969 they moved together to the city of Durango, DGO, Mexico, where they both settled and had 10 children. She was very loved and cared for by all of her family, neighbors and friends. We are going to miss her enormously.

She is survived by Antonia's 3 brothers and 2 sisters, Salvador S., Jalisco, Mexico. Maclovia S., San Antonio, TX. Onísimo S., Iduvina S., Emilio S., all 3 residing in Atolinga, Zacatecas. 9 of her children -Isidro, San Antonio, TX. J. Humberto (Claudia R.), J. Isabel (Brenda M.) J. Alfredo (Alejandra V.), Miguel Angel (Dora V.), Víctor Ubaldo (Cristina R.), all residents of Dodge City, KS. Tonia María, Jetmore KS, María Martina, Velia Margarita, Durango, DGO, Mexico. And 37 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brothers, Carlos Santa Cruz and Ramiro Santa Cruz, her son Manuel de Jesús and her grandson Christian López.

The Service Mass will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe (3231 N 14th Ave, Dodge City, KS) with the priest presiding. 

Visitation will be from 12 p.m. to 7pm. Friday, October 27, 2023 at Ziegler Funeral Chapel (1901 N 14th Ave, Dodge City, KS). Following the visitation at 7 p.m., a rosary will be held at the Ziegler Funeral Chapel for Antonia. After all services in Dodge City, Antonia will be transported to Durango, DGO, Mexico by her family, where she will then be buried alongside her husband and son in her hometown.
