The grand opening and ribbon cutting for the Flint Hills Community Accelerator and Childcare Business Initiative is scheduled Aug. 14 at 2 P.M. AT 2423 Kimball Avenue in Manhattan.
The event will feature Kansas Governor Laura Kelly, who will tour the facility and offer remarks on the importance of addressing statewide workforce and childcare needs through innovative local partnerships.
The Childcare Business Initiative will open with eight fully equipped childcare suites operated by independent providers receiving mentorship and business support through the program.
CBI was established in response to the critical childcare shortage in the Manhattan region where 48% of childcare demand is being met.CBI has more than 1,300 additional childcare slots.
