Manhattan Area Technical College Announces Ribbon Cutting for Advanced Technology Center

Manhattan Area Technical College has scheduled the ribbon-cutting ceremony for its new Advanced Technology Center. The event will take place on August 29th at 4:00 PM at the new 47,000 square foot facility.

The Center will  enhance educational opportunities and economic growth in the region. With the capacity to double enrollment in multiple existing programs, Manhattan Tech is also introducing three new programs for fall 2025 in Biomanufacturing, Electrician Technology, and Plumbing Technology.

"Our new Advanced Technology Center is a monumental step forward for Manhattan Tech and the entire region," said Dr. James Genandt, President of Manhattan Area Technical College. "By expanding our program offerings and providing top-notch facilities, we are preparing our students for high-demand careers while driving economic development."

The project is expected to inject $15-20 million into the regional economy. Additionally, 86% of Manhattan Tech graduates remain in the region. This innovative center will be home to six technical programs and a cutting-edge Biosafety Level 3 (BSL-3) simulation lab. The facility also boasts a versatile conference room and a modern computer lab designed for on campus use and local business and industry needs.
