
The Manhattan Optimist Club’s Manhattan High School Student of the Month is Monroe Say daughter of Travis and Keely Say of Manhattan.
Monroe is a member of National Honor Society, president of the MHS Fellowship of Christian Athletes and serves as president of the MHS Pride spirit club this year.
She is a member of the MHS Interpersonal Skills class, a peer model class where seniors interact with students with disabilities and other exceptionalities. Her family hosted an AFS student from Switzerland in 2019.
Haley has been a member of MHS Student Council beginning with her freshman year and serves now as student body secretary in her senior year.
She has also served as co-chair of the MHS blood drive.
Volleyball is a very important part of her life. She has been a volunteer with Manhattan Special Olympics volleyball and has also played on the MHS volleyball team from her sophomore to senior year. Monroe was named the 2022 FCA Kansas female athlete of the year
Next year Monroe plans to attend Kansas State University and major in Kinesiology with a goal of being a physician’s assistant.
