COVID-19 with the Delta variant has been increasing. Julie Gibbs, Riley County Health Officer, said in cases where a person has been fully vaccinated but tested positive with Delta they have had mild symptoms. The goal in Riley County is to get 70% of the public vaccinated. "According to KDHE about half of those Riley County residents who are eligible to receive the vaccine have at least had their first dose."
Gibbs said about 45% of those who are eligible are fully vaccinated. "We are strongly encouraging you to get tested if you have any symptoms. Common symptoms most recently include runny nose, headache and body aches, and along with the more familiar symptoms like loss of taste and smell."
