The Anderson Avenue Water, Sewer and Storm Improvements project is now about halfway complete, with construction expected to finish as scheduled by the end of 2027. This is a major, multi-year infrastructure project that is being constructed in thirteen phases with three main phases on Anderson Avenue.

The main focus is replacing more than one mile of aging water main beneath the roadway. The existing lines were constructed in the 1940s and are undersized for current standards.  Having reached the end of their useful life, the water mains in this area have also broken repeatedly

Currently, work on phase 1 of Anderson Avenue, Connecticut Avenue, Willard Place and Bellehaven Road is substantially complete.  In addition to Anderson Avenue Phases 2 and 3, the Contractor is now working in the areas of Timberlane Drive, Karla Lane, Michael Road, Wildwood Lane, and Oakdale Drive. The two remaining areas are Glenwood Lane and Elling Drive. Work in those phases will begin before the end of 2026
