Lonnie Joe Creach, 60, of Abilene, Kansas, passed away on October 10, 2023, with all his family by his side.
Lonnie will be remembered as a devoted father, husband, grandfather, and friend.Lonnie was born on April 24, 1963, to parents James and Rosetta Creach in Abilene, Kansas. He graduated from Abilene High School in 1981.A dedicated employee, Lonnie was employed by Solomon Corporation for a total of 37 years. Lonnie was strong willed and at times stubborn, but also had an enormous heart and was ornery to the core. His humor and direct approach to life will be missed by all that knew him. Community was very important to Lonnie. His favorite contribution was his involvement year after year with Toys for Tots. Lonnie was always happy to contribute to a local cause, eager to lend a hand in any way he could.
Lonnie was preceded in death by his father, James Creach, maternal grandparents, Joe and Etta Mae Garten and paternal grandparents Harry and Myrtle Creach. He is survived by his wife of 25 years Linda Creach of Abilene, mother, Rosetta Creach of Abilene. Children include his son Ely Creach (Katie) of Kansas City, KS, stepchildren Elisha Hasselman (Mike), Dallas Riffel and Kesa Riffel all of Abilene. Siblings Sylvan (Marilyn) Creach of Aurora CO, James Creach and Joetta (Gabe) Rosalez of Abilene along with 17 grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many friends.
There will be a visitation on Wednesday October 18th at Danner’s Funeral Home from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday October 19th at The Armory, 619 N Rogers St, Abilene, Kansas with Pastor Stan Norman officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to Toys for Tots organization, Home Health and Hospice of Dickinson County. It was Lonnie’s wish to have everyone continue with supporting the local organization that he supported through the years along with the one that supported him.
