MANHATTAN – Manhattan Firefighters got the opportunity to train in a building slated for demolition, giving them the chance to work on communication and maneuvering through buildings with unknown obstacles.
Firefighters also practiced rescue tactics used if one of their one would become unresponsive while inside a building fighting fire.
Firefighters from MFD trained at the former Kansas State University Global Campus building located at 1615 Anderson Avenue.
Crews trained at that location Wednesday through Friday, allowing all shifts the opportunity to train in the facility.
