Donna Lee Schleiger, 79, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on December 30, 2023.
Donna was born in Paris, TX on June 23, 1944 to Donald and Mary Kyckelhahn.
Donna grew up in Lincoln, NE.
As a young girl, she was involved with Job's Daughters and later, Eastern Star.
On March 25, 1975, Donna married her husband of 46 years, Willard 'Bill' Schleiger in Yankton, SD. Entering into the marriage, Bill lovingly welcomed her 3 children, Rick(Chris) Ihde of Foley, Alabama, Tod(Jill) Ihde and Gay Dawn(Chris) Henry of Lincoln, NE. Later they welcomed their daughter Jamie Wilcox and raised their boys, Christian, Cameron and Andrew Schleiger of Manhattan, KS.
Donna was a kind, caring woman. She would help her family, neighbors, and friends in any way that she could.
You'd be wrong to mistake her kindness for weakness. She was a strong woman that didn't take crap from anybody and fiercely protected her children. She didn't raise no kids to be wussies.
Donna worked odd jobs over the years. However, her greatest job was being a housewife and raising their children. She will be missed by all that loved her.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents, loving husband, Bill and son, Rick.
Donna is survived by 3 of her children, 13 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held on January 20th, 2024 at 2:00 pm at 5640 Seward Avenue, Lincoln, NE.
Cards, donations and flowers can be sent to the boys at: Christian Schleiger, 2500 Farm Bureau Road, Lot 82, Manhattan, KS 66502.
Donna left one last message in her home, it reads: "Remember me with smiles and laughter, for that is how I will remember you all! If you can only remember me with tears, then don't remember me at all." - Author Unknown
