Wheat harvest has begun in southern Kansas and before long will be under way in the Junction City - Manhattan area. Geary County Emergency Management officials asked the public to be patient with the extra farm equipment on the roadway. Slow down and give the farm equipment some room.
Junction City Fire Chief Terry Johnson urged motorists as well to be courteous and safe, and to keep an eye out for the farm implements. He said they want everyone to be safe and the harvest to go through smoothly.
