Junction City woman airlifted to hospital after making u-turn in front of semi

ELLIS COUNTY— Two people were injured in an accident just after 11a.m. Thursday in Ellis County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2000 Peterbilt semi driven by   Frank Andrew Perkins II, 30, Cordell, OK., was southbound on the U.S. 183 Bypass in Hays.

The semi struck a 2019 Nissan Rogue driven by Jasmine Melia Bradley, 24, Junction City, was southbound on the Bypass and the driver attempted to make a u-turn in front of the semi at 41st Street.

Bradley and a passenger Michael L. Fisher, 60, Cleveland, MO. were transported to Hays Medical Center and later flown to Via Christi in Wichita.

Perkins and a passenger in the semi were not injured.  All four were properly restrained at the time of the accident, according to the KHP.
