Wesley “Carleen” Martin

Wesley “Carleen” Martin, 68, entered peacefully into eternal rest on Thursday, February 10, 2022 at her home in Clay Center, Kansas.

Carleen was born on July 13, 1953 in Chillicothe, Missouri, the daughter of William and Virginia (King) Simpson. She spent her formative years in Marysville, Kansas. On November 27, 1970, she was united in marriage to Monte Martin at Waterville, Kansas. The union was blessed with the birth of one son and one daughter, Brian and Brenda.

The family moved to McPherson, Kansas where they raised their children. After her children were grown, Monte and Carleen moved to Frankfort, Kansas where they made a wonderful home and life to share with their grandchildren.

Carleen was a homemaker/Stay at home Mom most of her life. She dedicated and devoted her life to her children and grandchildren.

After her children and grandchildren grew up and left the home she took on new hobbies. Her Favorite pass time was logging on to her computer and playing online community games, during which she met some amazing and lifelong friends that she enjoyed talking to every day.

Throughout her life, Carleen devoted herself to caring for her family and for her friends. She was a loving Wife, Mother, and Grandmother who would always put her family before herself. We know that she is in peace in heaven, and it is a comfort to her family knowing that she has been reunited with her loving husband and is free of pain and sadness.

Survivors include her son, Brian Martin, her daughter, Brenda Hudlin of Clay Center, KS, sister Linda Roy of Aurora, MO, granddaughter Cortney Poley of Wilber, NE, grandson, Kyle Hudlin of Frankfort, Ks, grandson, Jacob Hudlin of Clay Center, KS, grandson Kalib Martin of Denver, CO and 7 Great Grand Kids. She was Preceeded in death by her loving Husband Monte Martin, brothers, Gary Simpson and Fred Simpson, Sister Jena Novak, Mother Virginia Simpson, Father William Simpson and Grandson Ryder Martin.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a .m. on Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at the Neill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home in Clay Center, Kansas.  A graveside service will be follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Union Cemetery in Beattie, Kansas.

Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until service time on Tuesday, February 15 at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Carleen Martin memorial fund to be designated later by the family and can be sent c/o the funeral home.
