Alvin Ray King, 63, of Manhattan, died, Monday, March 20th, at Ascension Via Christi Health Hospital.
Alvin was born in Manhattan, on July 3, 1959, the son of the late Alyce Joyce (Tidwell) and Loren Edward King. He was the husband of 43 years to Linda Sue (Nelson) King, who survives. They were married on July 21, 1979, in Manhattan. He was a 1977 graduate of Manhattan High School. Over the years, he was a truck driver for the companies like Folley Equipment of Manhattan, Manko Windows, Bayer Const., KDOT, Artex Manufacturing, and Kershaw Redi Mix.
Alvin is survived by a daughter, Stacey M. (Kenneth) Scarbrough, of Topeka; a son,Michael A (Emily) King, of Shawnee; 3 grandchildren: Jaxon Scarbrough, Adley King, Aiden King; two sisters, Teri G. (Lewis) Cragg, of Wamego; Linda S. King-Lake, of Manhattan.
The family will greet friends on Sunday, March 25, 2023, from 4:00pm to 6:00pm. A funeral service will be held at 2:30 PM on Monday, March 26th, at Carlson's Irvin-Parkview Funeral Home & Cremation in Manhattan, KS.
The family requests donations to the Friends of Tuttle Creek and may be sent to the funeral home. Graveside services will follow at the Valley View Memorial Gardens, Manhattan, KS.
