RILEY COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating alleged forgery in Manhattan.
On Tuesday afternoon, officers filed a report for forgery and making false information in the 2300 block of Stagg Hill Road in Manhattan, according to the Riley County Police Department activity report.
A 42-year-old man, Briggs Auto Group and Consumer Portfolio Services reported a 41-year-old man forged the victim's signature in January 2023 to purchase a vehicle worth approximately $18,000 through Briggs to include a loan contract and financing for the vehicle through Consumer Portfolio Services.
