Vern Henricks Named C. Clyde Jones Volunteer of the Year at Manhattan Area Chamber of Commerce Annual Meeting

Manhattan, Kan. – The Manhattan Area Chamber of Commerce has recognized Vern Henricks as the 2024 C. Clyde Jones Volunteer of the Year. This award was presented during the Chamber’s Annual Meeting on February 7 at the Manhattan Conference Center.

Named in honor of C. Clyde Jones, a longtime Manhattan resident and the first dean of Kansas State University’s College of Business, this award celebrates individuals who exemplify outstanding commitment to volunteerism and community service. Henricks becomes the 36th recipient of this distinguished honor.

A dedicated development professional and consultant, Henricks has spent his career helping organizations grow and thrive. His extensive leadership experience includes roles such as:

  1. Vice President of Institutional Advancement – Manhattan Christian College (KS)
  2. Senior Vice President – Hartsook & Associates Consulting Firm (KS)
  3. Vice President of Major Gift Programs – KSU Foundation (KS)
  4. Executive Director of Development – College of Engineering, Iowa State University (IA)
  5. Director of Development – School of Engineering, University of Pittsburgh (PA)
  6. Associate Athletic Director – Humboldt State University (CA)
  7. Assistant Athletic Director & Head Baseball Coach – Fort Hays State University (KS)

Henricks earned both his B.S. and M.S. degrees from Kansas State University, building a foundation for his impactful career in development and fundraising. His ability to cultivate meaningful relationships and drive philanthropic success has benefited numerous institutions and communities throughout his career.
