RILEY COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating a suspect for alleged sex crimes.
Just after 5p.m. Wednesday, police arrested 24-year-old Chase Newberry, 24, of Manhattan was on Riley County District Court warrant for rape and two counts of aggravated criminal sodomy, according to the Riley County Police Department activity report.
This warrant stems from a March 23, 2022, rape in Manhattan involving a now 20-year-old female victim.
Newberry remains confined in the Riley County Jail with a total bond of $50,000. Police released no additional details.
