FHDC hosts Solar Eclipse Presentation

MANHATTAN - On Thursday, March 14th from 6:00pm to 7:00pm, the Flint Hills Discovery Center will host it's first event in anticipation of the total solar eclipse to be visible on April 8, 2024.

'Go See It!: Total Solar Eclipse' is a presentation by Professor Chris Sorensen.

Sorensen will explain to attendees what to expect on the day of the total solar eclipse and how to safely experience it.

The presentation is free and open to the public on the first floor of the Discovery Center, exhibits will be closed during the presentation.

Christopher Sorensen is the Cortelyou-Rust University Distinguished Professor Emeritus of Physics at Kansas State University and Vice President for Research and Design at Hydrograph, a startup based on his discoveries. He is an avid amateur astronomer who is spearheading the Solar Eclipse viewing activities at K-State. He has won numerous teaching awards and enjoys sharing his love of the night sky with others.
