David Wayne Rich, 29, of Junction City, KS, passed away Friday, January 28, 2022. Cremation will take place. A visitation will take place 3-5 p.m. Sunday, February 6, 2022, at Johnson Funeral Home. Memorial contributions are suggested to be given to the David Wayne Rich memorial fund for his son Carter Rich.
David was born July 10, 1992, Fort Benning, GA, the son of Jimmy Lee and Nancy Lynne (Altenhofen) Rich.
David graduated from Junction City High School with the class of 2010. He attended and graduated from Manhattan Area Technical College with a certificate in welding in 2014. David worked at Jim Clark Chevrolet for many years. In 2019, he became a car sales consultant with Jim Clark. David was an avid collector of movie memorabilia. He specifically liked older chevy muscle cars.
He married his high school sweetheart and his true love Kimberly Leighty on April 9, 2016.
Survivors include his wife Kimberly of the home in Junction City; one son, Carter Rich; mother, Nancy Rich of Junction City; one brother, Ryan Burns of Washington, IA; Paternal grandmother, Jody Rich; maternal grandparents, Leslie and Barbara Altenhofen and maternal grandfather, Ronald M. Conrad; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Tim and Kerstin Leighty of Grafenwoehr, Germany; two brother-in-laws, Michael and his wife Jessica and Jordan Leighty; one nephew, Heinrich and one niece, Clarissa; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father Jimmy Lee; paternal grandfather, Joseph Dean Rich; maternal grandmother, Sandra Kay Conrad.
