JACKSON COUNTY—Two people were injured in an accident just after 6p.m. Wednesday in Jackson County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2017 GMC Acadia driven by Maria Flores, 83, Eagle Pass, Texas, was westbound on 158th Road at U.S. 75. The driver failed to yield to southbound traffic before proceeding across U.S. 75.
A southbound 2007 Chrysler Town&Country driven by Larry A Vanvleck, 56, St. Marys, struck the SUV.
EMS transported Flores, two passengers in the SUV from Texas, Vanvleck and a passenger in the van Christie A. Reigert, 55, St. Marys, to Stormont Vail in Topeka. The passengers in the SUV were not wearing seat belts, according to the KHP.
