Konza United Way kicked off it's newest fundraising campaign on Tuesday morning.
As part of the campaign kick-off, attendees were asked to write encouraging messages on stickers which were placed in books that will be distributed through partner organizations of the Konza United Way.
The Konza United Way serves Riley, Pottawatomie, Clay, Marshall, Wabaunsee and Washington counties.
Konza United Way chose Shawn and Kate Drew as the Campaign Champions because of their philosophy "Everybody Counts" when it comes to supporting the Konza United Way.
Tara Claussen, CEO of the Konza United Way(KUW), also shed light on the impact that donations of all sizes can have with the KUW, along with workplace/payroll deductions.
Claussen also announced there will soon be a sober living facility opening in the Manhattan community to serve those community members who need added support to reach sobriety.
The initiative is a collaborative adventure with Konza United Way, Manhattan Emergency Shelter, Inc, Be Able Community, Greater Manhattan Community Foundation, Pawnee Mental Health and other partners.
