Much of the Big Red One potentially may not be on Fort Riley in 2026 for an extended period of time. Maj. Gen. Monte Rone provided an update on the Division's planned activities during the Military Affairs Council Breakfast in Junction City. He did not elaborate on any deployments in 2026.
In 2024:
The 1st Brigade is currently undergoing gunnery training.
The Dagger ( 2nd ) Brigade is preparing for a National Training Center rotation in August,
The Fall Apple Days celebration will be Oct. 5
There will be a barbecue on Aug. 8 to recognize excellence in civilian volunteers.
The Division was represented in the Freedom Fest Parade in Junction City on July 4.
