GEARY COUNTY — Law enforcement authorities have identified the victim of the fatal shooting incident that occurred Sunday evening as a 22-year-old Enfinnity Latania Hayes, 22, of Fort Riley. The incident was believed to have taken place at the Milford State Park Group Shelter during the evening hours on Sunday, according to a media release from the Geary County Sheriff.
The victim was approached by a man described as 6-foot-1 or taller dressed in all black who approached the victim and her husband and attempted to rob the couple at gun point.
There was a gun shot and the victim fell to the ground and she was driven to Geary Community Hospital by her husband.

On Sunday October 3rd at 8:24 p.m. Geary County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the Geary Community Hospital in reference to a possible shooting victim. The victim later succumbed to their injuries.
The incident reportedly occurred in a rural area in Geary County and the victim was driven to Geary Community Hospital for treatment. The Geary County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident as a possible homicide.
