MANHATTAN - The 33rd annual Cops N' Kids event was held in Manhattan on Saturday morning.

More than 100 kids from Riley and Pottawatomie Counties were invited to participate in the event, with officers from seven law enforcement entities helping kids shop.

Officers and deputies from Riley County Police Department, Pottawatomie County Sheriff's Office, Kansas State University Police Department, Wamego Police Department, St. Marys Police Department, Onaga Police Department and the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks-Tuttle Creek State Park, all shopped with local kids

"This is a great opportunity for us to reach out and connect with the people in this community. They support us throughout the year, and this is a chance for us to give back and support them in return. We get to meet some great people and this is all made possible by the donations from our community and from other officers and it's a fantastic opportunity for us to give something back." Corporal Joseph Erhlich with Riley County Police Department says.
