Safe Cam Community Watch Program is drawing a good response

Riley County police launched the Safe Cam Initiative on April 1. It is a program designed to help build community outreach and help solve crime.

People can register their security cameras that view any public area in the county. If a crime is committed in the registered area, police may contact the owner to review footage related to that incident. Citizens can leave program when they choose to do so.

Riley County Law Board members were informed Monday that there has been a good response and the map has been growing the first couple weeks of the program. The Law Board held their monthly meeting at Manhattan City Hall.
