Paul Wayne “P.W.” Henningsen

Paul Wayne “P.W.” Henningsen, 85, of Belvue, Kansas, died Monday, October 24, 2022, at the Good Samaritan Society of Wamego.   He was a life-long member of the community.

P.W. was born October 31, 1936, in Wamego, Kansas, the son of Paul O. and Mabel (Lederer) Henningsen.  He attended local schools and graduated from Wamego High School.

P.W. was a farmer and stockman for his entire adult life, operating the family farm near Belvue.  He was a member of the Belvue Township Drainage Board and an active participant of the local FFA and 4-H programs.  P.W. enjoyed fishing, playing Pitch with his friends, and swapping stories at the gas station drinking coffee.  P.W. loved going to cattle sales and was a regular at all the local sale barns.

P.W. married Rose Marie Williams on August 21, 1958, in Wamego.  She preceded him in death on March 23, 2015.

P.W. is survived by his daughters; Jo Logan (Jay), Bellvue, Colorado, and Janet Brown (Eric), Belvue; his grandchildren, Scott Logan (Emily), Wichita, Aaron Logan (Kelsey Welliver), Manhattan, Jacob Brown (Tina), Belvue, and Colton Brown, Topeka; and his great-grandchildren, Benjamin and Stella Logan.  He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Julie Marie Henningsen.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 5, 2022, at Campanella and Stewart Funeral Home in Wamego.  A private inurnment will be held in Belvue Cemetery.  The family suggest memorial contributions to either FFA or 4-H, and those may be sent in care of the funeral home.
