RCPD: Man arrested for incident at Outpost Western Store

RILEY COUNTY - On March 13, 2023, around 2:50 a.m., officers responded to the 6700 block of Tuttle Creek Blvd, on the report of a vehicle on fire.

Officers located a Pontiac Grand Prix on fire, and later found the owner, 22-year-old Trenton Richerson, of Marysville, walking in the 7300 block of Tuttle Creek Blvd.

RCPD officers determined that Richerson had been driving intoxicated before his vehicle was on fire.

Around 8:30 am, officers with the Riley County Police Department were called to the 7000 block of Tuttle Creek Blvd on the report of burglary and criminal damage to property at Outpost Western Store.

Officers determined Richerson to be the suspect in the burglary and had damaged a front store window and a price scanner, before taking cash and an Apple iPad.

Estimated loss with the burglary and criminal damage to property is $1,500.

Richerson was arrested for the requested charges of driving under the influence of drugs/alcohol; 1st conv; blood/breath .08 or >; and Burglary; Locked non-dwelling for felony, theft, sex; Criminal damage to property; without consent value <$1,000.

Bond was set at a total $4,750 for all the charges, Richerson remains confined to the Riley County Jail.
