GEARY COUNTY—One person was injured in an accident just after 6p.m. Wednesday in Geary County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 1998 Oldsmobile LSS driven by Benjamin R. Ayon, 61, Manhattan, was westbound on Interstate 70 approaching the Deep Creek Road off ramp.
The driver started to take the off ramp at a high rate of speed and could not negotiate the curve.
The vehicle entered the north ditch, rolled and came to rest on all 4 tires in the ditch facing east.
EMS transported Ayon to hospital in Manhattan. He was properly restrained at the time of the accident but was was trapped and had to be extricated from the vehicle, according to the KHP.
