RCPD: 3 arrested as part of ongoing investigation

MANHATTAN - On the evening of Monday, April 8, 2024, officers with the Riley County Police Department executed a search warrant on Charoleis Lane.

RCPD arrested Derrick Duncan, Anthony Edwards and Brittany Clark in connection with the search warrant.

Officers arrested Derrick Duncan, 21, of Manhattan, was arrested  on probable cause offenses of distribution of controlled substance causing death, distribute or possess with the intent to distribute drug paraphernalia for illegal use, possession of marijuana, aggravated battery knowingly causing great bodily harm or disfigurement x2, distribution of controlled substance causing great bodily harm, distribute opiates/opium/ narcotics or stimulant of an unknown quantity x2, distribution of opiate/narcotic/certain stimulant/heroin with a dosage of 10- <100 within 1000 feet of a school, distribution of controlled substance causing great bodily harm, and distribution of opiates/opium/narcotics/stimulant of an unknown quantity x4. Duncan was not issued a bond at this time pending his first appearance and was confined to the Riley County Jail at the time of the media release.

Anthony Edwards, 38, of Manhattan, was arrested on probable cause offenses of distribution of opiate/opium/narcotics/stimulant/heroin <3.5 grams within 1000 feet of a school, possession of opiates/opium/narcotics, use of a communication facility in the commission of a felony drug violation, probation violation (the original charge was for possession of drug paraphernalia), use/possession with the intent to use drug paraphernalia into the human body, possession of a depressant, and trafficking contraband into a correctional/care facility. Edwards was issued a total bond of $28,000 and was confined at the time of the media release.

Brittany Clark, 36, of Manhattan was arrested on probable cause offenses of distribution of opiate/opium/narcotics/stimulant/heroin <3.5 grams within 1000 feet of a school, possession of opiate/opium/narcotic or certain stimulant x3, use/possession with the intent to use drug paraphernalia into the human body, possession of depressant, distribution or possession with the intent to distribute drug paraphernalia for illegal use, distribution of certain depressant dose 10-<100 units, possession of marijuana, and distribution or possession with the intent to distribute marijuana within 1000 feet of a school <25 grams. Clark was issued a total bond of $70,000 and was confined at the time of the media release.

RCPD continues to combat the use and distribution of illegal narcotics, including loss of life due to these narcotics.

The investigation remains ongoing. Any individuals possessing pertinent information are urged to come forward and assist law enforcement authorities. Lastly, RCPD would like to thank the Kansas Bureau of Investigation and the Kansas Highway Patrol for their assistance in this matter.
