Riley Co. returns to 'High' incidence rate of COVID-19 cases

Riley County has an additional 87 new COVID-19 cases recorded between August 13th through the 19th, by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE).

Riley County is now in the HIGH COVID-19 incidence category, with more than 100 cases per 100,000 people, at 117.2. This total does not include those who use at-home tests.

Two COVID-19 positive patients are hospitalized, due to their symptoms, at Ascension Via Christi in Manhattan. One of the patients is on a ventilator in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

The 93rd death related to COVID-19 was reported as a 56-year old female. She tested positive on August 13th and died on August 18th. She received one dose of the Moderna vaccine in February of 2022.

VACCINE INFORMATION
Pfizer, Moderna, and Novavax vaccines are now available at the Riley County Health Department Clinic located at 2030 Tecumseh Road.

Children under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian to receive vaccinations. The Health Department does not charge any fees for COVID-19 vaccines.

Walk-ins are welcome at the Health Department Clinic. People can also schedule appointments by calling (785) 776-4779 ext. 7675. 

Riley County Health Clinic Hours:

  1. Mon-Wed: 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
  2. Thurs: noon – 6 p.m.
  3. Fri: 8:30 - 11 a.m.

According to the KDHE case summary, as of August 24, 2022, there have been a total of 14,950COVID-19 cases in Riley County.
