Betty Ann Hamilton, age 76, of Westmoreland died October 11, 2023, at Ascension Via Christi in Manhattan.
Betty was born on August 19, 1947, in Springfield, Missouri, the daughter of Richard and Daphne (Pepper) Hudson.
Betty spent her childhood in Michigan and lived in Westmoreland for over 40 years. She married Edward Hamilton on February 2, 1972, in Norway, Kansas. He preceded her in death on January 8, 2017.
Betty worked as a department manager for K-Mart for 17 years and also poured molds in a ceramics shop in Wamego, Kansas.
She had a passion for animals of all kinds, Betty was known for always lending a helping hand to animals in need. She was often found nursing sick or wounded animals back to health. This passion led her to pursue her dream of working with nature when she graduated at the age of 62 from Highland Community College with an associate degree in animal science. Betty was determined, caring, and thoughtful, but most of all she was passionate about her family.
Betty is survived by her sons, Don Ross, Ron Ross, and David Ross, grandchildren, Chelsea, Caleb, Kristi, Lance, Haley, Mason, Josephine, William, Courtney, Samantha, and Stephanie; and twenty-one great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; Edward Hamilton, son; James Ross, and her daughter; Tamara Ross.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at Campanella & Stewart Funeral Home of Wamego. A visitation will be held on Monday, October 23, from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Campanella & Stewart Funeral Home of Wamego.
