MARION COUNTY—One person was injured in an accident just before 7:30a.m. Monday in Marion County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2018 Freightliner semi driven by Getaneh Alem Damtew, 54, Kansas City, Missouri, was westbound on Kansas 150 one mile west of Wagon Wheel Road.
The driver failed to yield to a northbound 2000 Kenworth semi driven by Manuel Nevarez, 62, Sedgwick, who was traveling around the roundabout. The Freightliner drove through the trailer of the Kenworth semi.
EMS transported Damtew to Wesley Medical Center. Nevarez was not injured. Both drivers were properly restrained, according to the KHP.
Weather conditions did contribute to the collision, according to the KHP.
