Hubert Lee Kirkpatrick, 79, of Junction City, KS, passed away on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at Enterprise Estates Nursing Center in Enterprise, KS. A visitation will be held Wednesday, December 22, 2021, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Johnson Cremations, Funerals & Receptions. A graveside service will follow the visitation at 11 a.m. at St. Paul's Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to be given to the Alzheimer's Association and First Christian Church in Junction City, KS.
Hubert was born January 9, 1942, in Junction City, KS the son of Glenn Euegene and Myrtle Veneta (Koepcke) Kirkpatrick.
Hubert graduated from Junction City High School with the class of 1960. Hubert spent most of his life farming in Geary County. He also spent time helping his father with construction work in the area. Later he worked at Fort Riley as a maintenance worker and Exide Battery Company. Prior to his retirement in September 2005, he worked as a plumber for Construction Industry Laborers.
Hubert belonged to the Elk's Lodge #1037 in Junction City, KS. During is farming career, he won the "outstanding young farmer" award. Over the years, he spent a lot time volunteering with 4-H.
He married Norma Jean Wayne. They were married for forty one years. She passed away December 9, 2003.
Survivors include one brother, Robert Wayne Kirkpatrick of TX; two sisters, Kathleen Wickham of Pawnee, OK and Barbara Gfeller of Junction City, KS; many nephews, nieces and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son Randall Kirkpatrick that died September 18, 2021, one daughter Denise and two grandchildren.
