SFC (RET) Guy Dennis Sumile, 78, of Junction City,Kansas died on Thursday, January 4, 2024 at Stormont-Vail Healthcare in Topeka, Kansas.
Guy was born September 18, 1945, in Waialua, Hawaii the son of James A. and Diana K. (Chun) Sumile./Guy served in the United States Army until his retirement in 1989. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. His greatest joy was spending time with his family. Everyone knew Guy as "Papa".
On December 9, 1967, he married Thelma M. Correa in Haleiwa, Hawaii.
Survivors include his wife Thelma of the home in Junction City, Kansas; two sons, Guy Sumile and his partner Kimber Poe of San Antonio, Texas and Daniel Sumile and partner David Golston of Kansas City, Missouri; two daughters, Christy Sumile-Scott and husband Clifford Scott of Junction City, Kansas and Nicole Montanez of Fort Pierce, Florida; one brother, Raymond Sumile of Las Vegas, Nevada; one sister, Theresa Banks of West Monroe, Louisiana; nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Roland Sumile and one sister, Paula Sumile.
Cremation will take place. A memorial service will be announced at a later date with full military honors in the care of Johnson Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 203 North Washington, Junction City, KS 66441
