The Devil ( 1st ) Brigade of the 1st Infantry Division is preparing for an upcoming deployment to Europe. Col. Ian Lauer, Brigade Commander, told a Military Affairs Council Breakfast audience Thursday morning in Junction City that the primary deployment departure time will be in the mid June to mid-July time frame.
There are approximately 4,000 soldiers in the Brigade with a portion going to a pair of locations in Poland and the Iron Ranger unit to Bulgaria. The deployment is scheduled for nine months.
Lauer said the Brigade contains everything from tanks and Bradley Fighting Vehicles to infantry.
