Brigadier General Kevin Wiliams has assumed command of the 1st Infantry Division. He succeeds Major General Monte Rone.

During the change of command ceremony at Fort Riley, BG Williams noted that he was humbled to stand before the audience and he looked forward to working with those in Junction City and Manhattan. He emphasized that there "must be a lethal, professional army."

The ceremony included an inspection of the troops.

MG Rone had served at Fort Rilay since June of 2024.
