Gary Dean Fitzwater, 79, passed away at home on December 20th surrounded by his beloved wife, Lois, and loving family.
Gary had been battling several different ailments for the past 10 years. Gary was born Sept 9th, 1944, to Max and Phyllis (Seaton) Fitzwater in Salina, KS. Gary lived in Dickinson County his entire life. Gary had one sibling, a brother, Marlin. Gary married Lois (Walters) September 22, 1963 and together they had 3 children: Lorie, Michael, and Sherry. Gary had a love for animals. There wasn’t a stray dog that didn’t have a home.
Gary worked for Griffith and Robson Oil Company for 42 years. He enjoyed delivering gas to many farmers and friends. Gary made many friends along the way.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Max and Phyllis, grandparents, Son-in-law Kodi Fulton, sister-in-law Dorothy Engle, Brother-in-laws Kenneth and Roy Walters, Albert Miller, Mother-in-law Joy Walters, Father-in-law Harold Walters. Gary is survived by wife Lois Fitzwater, brother Marlin (Melinda) Fitzwater, 3 children: Lorie (Kevin) Sickler, Mike (Angi) Fitzwater, and Sherry Fulton, 4 grandchildren: Lindsey Hamm, Ashley Fields, Nicole Knox, and Kyle Fulton, 4 great grandchildren: Madalee, Averee, and Elinee Fields, and Allie Hamm, and 4 special doggy friends: Rainee, Boomer, Coco and Tellulah.
Memorials can be made to; Grace United Church of Christ and/or Elsie Brooks Memorial Cancer Fund of Dickinson County. A Celebration of Life date and location will be determined at a later date.
