Riley County Emergency Medical Services were notified last Friday that an employee tested positive for COVID-19. The employee is an Emergency Medical Technician.
The employee was last on duty and had contact with the public on Wednesday, Aug. 12, and did not have any symptoms at that time. CDC guidelines and Riley County EMS policy were followed while on duty and that individual wore appropriate personal protective equipment including a mask while interacting with the public on Aug. 12 Anyone who was include contact with the employee has already been notified.
An investigation revealed that the employee was exposed to a laboratory confirmed case of COVID-19 on Monday, Aug. 10, while attending a local school board function in Pottawatomie County.
