DICKINSON COUNTY—One person was injured in an accident just after 5:30p.m. in Dickinson County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2018 Ford Escape driven by Nicholas W. Rinehart, 19, Chapman, was westbound on Old US Highway 40 at Nobel Road.
The driver failed to navigate a curve. The SUV crossed the center line and entered the South ditch. It struck a culvert and continued southwest in the ditch, struck another culvert, continued west and struck a barn on the south side of the roadway. The driver was ejected from the vehicle, landing approximately 30 feet in front of the vehicle in the south ditch.
EMS transported Rinehart to Stormont Vail. He was not wearing a seat belt, according to the KHP.
