Pottawatomie County is one of the 11 counties in the state listed as plateauing or having an unfavorable trend line according to Kansas Department of Health and Environment Secretary Dr. Lee Norman. Additional counties included Riley, Douglas, Greenwood, Leavenworth, McPherson, Meade, Reno, Sedgwick, Stevens and Wyandotte. That information was contained in a COVID-19 update from Pottawatomie County.
The Kansas Department of Health and Environment encourages those counties to phase back a step. Pottawatomie County signed and posted a health order on Wednesday limiting the number of people in a mass gathering to 100. That number will be reviewed and a determination will be made on or before June 19, when that order expires, as to whether a new order will be enacted, or if the County will enter the Phase Out step.
