There is a new Health Order for Riley County

   Riley County Health Officer Julie Gibbs has issued Health Order No. 12 which will go into effect at 12:01 a.m. Wednesday, June 10. This will replace the previous order scheduled for the same day.

Instead of allowing mass gathering sizes of 100 starting June 10 and 250 starting June 17, Order No. 12 continues to limit the gathering size to 50 until June 17. At that time, if it is safe to do so, the gathering size will increase to 100. Bars and nightclubs will still be allowed to remain open until 2:00 a.m., as outlined in Local Health Order No. 11.

Governor Kelly announced in a news release yesterday that she, as well as officials with the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE, recommend that gathering sizes continue to be limited to 45 people throughout Kansas.

“In light of the KDHE recommendation, and the increase in cases for Riley County over the weekend, we made the decision to alter the order,” said Local Health Officer Julie Gibbs.

This order will remain in effect for 14 days, or until amended, superseded, or rescinded.
