Manhattan city officials have posted advice on their Facebook page in which they said if you are reopening a business or building that has been closed for awhile, make sure that you take steps to ensure that the water is safe.
Inspect the plumbing system visually, turn on all faucets and fixtures, both hot and cold, to flush fresh water through the system. And drain and clean the water storage facilities and hot water heaters.
