COVID-19 has resulted in the cancellation of the Junction City Rodeo in 2020.
Junction City Rodeo Association President Daryl Blocker confirmed the rodeo will not be held this year. "They wanted us to still wear the mask and keep the distance and wipe everything down every time somebody used something, and I couldn't control the crowd numbers. And I couldn't force the cowboys to wear a mask, and I just thought it would be too big of a pain in the butt to make everything roll."
This would have been the 26th year for the rodeo, which was scheduled July 17th and 18th. Blocker indicated there is an intention to bring the rodeo back in 2021.
