Eisenhower Legacy Transportation Program includes one major project in Geary County

Modernization of the I-70 - K-18 Highway interchange is one of the projects included in the new Eisenhower Legacy Transportation program unveiled Thursday.

KDOT said the program adds major highway projects to the agency's development pipeline where preliminary engineering work is ompleted to projects may be considered for construction. 

The new program includes the interchange modernization to help alleviate capacity issues from nearby Fort Riley. The project would cover a one mile stretch of roadway and carries a cost estimate for fiscal year 2025 of $31 million.

Riley County Health Department releases statement on Phase 1.5

Governor Kelly just released Phase 1.5 of the Ad Astra: A Plan to Reopen Kansas which will begin on May 18. Gatherings are still limited to 10 people. Social distancing should still be maintained and masks are strongly recommended.

Personal service businesses and fitness centers/gyms/health clubs WILL be allowed to open with some restrictions.

Some restrictions for fitness centers/gyms/health clubs are that group classes are not allowed and locker rooms must be closed except as necessary to use bathroom facilities.

Bars and nightclubs, theaters, museums, and other indoor leisure spaces will NOT be able to reopen during this phase.
