U.S. Sen. Jerry Moran, who co-chairs the Senate Defense Communities Caucus, has announced that the Department of Defense has published grant proposal requirements for the Defense Community Infrastructure Program.
This program will allow defense communities across the nation to access federal funds to support local infrastructure projects, create new business partnerships and support military families and veterans. Sen. Moran led the effort to include DCIP in the fiscal year 2020 Defense Appropriatons bill.
"Defense communities play a vital role in supporting the well-being and morale of our service members and their families," said Sen. Moran. "I am pleased the Defense Department is moving forward with implementing this program that will allow defense communities to continue supporting our military and its personnel by creating a welcoming environment around our military bases."
