Businesses take necessary COVID-19 precautions

Many Riley County businesses have reopened their doors in a controlled manner and are taking all the necessary precautions.  That was an observation by Riley County Health Officer Julie Gibbs on Wednesday. "From what we have seen so far most retail businesses and restaurants are following the guidelines and best practices to open up this week."

Phase one of Covid-19 recovery began this week. Gibbs said those businesses following the best practices are less likely to have a COVID positive case associated with their business and are more likely to stay open.

Gibbs added that the Riley County command staff has been discussing the next phase of reopening and the guidelines needed to reopen, but she also cautioned that the county could stay in phase one of COVID-19 recovery if necessary, and officials will be following guidance from the governor.
