Pottawatomie County positive COVID-19 case numbers did not increase on Wednesday. There have still been 15 positive cases. Eleven patients have recovered and four cases are active. Three tests are pending.
Health Department officials have noted that the anticipated length of each phase in the re-opening plans for the state and county is subject to change. The initial phase extends for at least 14 days so the earliest phase two could begin is May 18. The decision to extend Phase One, whether at the state or local level, is expected sometime next week, and will be based on the available date.
They noted that more positive cases are anticipated across the state. The number of cases requiring hospitalization, and COVID related fatalities will be among the data considered in determining the transition to the next phase.
