Straight line winds cause damage in southern Geary County

Straight line winds were clocked at 77 miles per hour Monday morning at Rock Springs 4-H Center. Geary County Emergency Management confirmed there were no injuries but there was damage approximately three miles east of there at the Gary Schellhorn farm residence.

Emergency Management Director Garry Berges confirmed multiple out buildings were damaged or blown over onto implements, a cattle trailer was blown over on its side between two buildings."

Berges noted there were a lot of straight line winds in the area as the storm cell moved to the east.
