Storms cover the region on Monday morning

Severe weather swept through the Junction City - Manhattan area on Monday morning. Straight line winds were estimated by spotters south of Junction City in the 80 miles per hour range. Hail across portions of the region.

There were multiple severe thunderstorm warnings.

Two accidents were reported. One occurred on I-70 in Wabaunsee County and the other just north of the I-70 -U.S. 77 intersection involved a rollover.

In Manhattan Emergency Management and police dispatch confirmed there was flash flooding on streets. Among those areas were 12th and Bertrand, 4th and Bluemont and on K-18.
