Unified Command will wait on the Governor's order before revealing reopening plans

The Unified Command Staff for the Emergency Operations Center in Riley County said Wednesday that they are taking local and regional data into consideration when making plans for reopening businesses. They have a step approach ready to guide reopening for the county and will wait on the order by Governor Kelly before making those plans available to the public.  Kelly is expected to announce her plans for the statewide stay at home order and restrictions on Thursday.

The Unified Command in Riley County said they did not want to put anything out too soon that may need to be changed based on the Governor's Order and the guidance from the local task forces.

Since it is difficult, if not impossible to maintain social distancing at certain businesses such as salons, barber shops and entertainment values those businesses may not be part of the first steps of reopening. The process will be slow and measured, and officials will rely heavily on guidance from the Governor's Order. When businesses do open they will need to have additional safety measures in place.
