A stolen safe was recently found in the woods near Grandview Plaza. Dickinson County Sheriff Gareth Hoffman explained that a safe valued at $600 and approximately $9,000 in cash and checks from tithing inside the safe were stolen during an alleged burglary at the New Trail Fellowship Church.

Dickinson County investigators recovered the stolen safe in a wooded area of Grandview Plaza near the former home of a suspect that they have identified as Miles Martin Sr., 60, who was incarcerated at the Riley County Jail. They were also able to recover a copy of the church key that Miles allegedly had in his possession.

Martin is in custody at the Riley County Jail on unrelated charges and burglary charges are pending in Dickinson County.
